Staff Mike and Char Turrigiano are the Senior Pastors of the NYC Vineyard. They have been married more than three decades and have two grown sons, both married, and four grandchildren. They have been pastoring here in New York City for over twenty-five years.Mike was born and raised in NYC and is a graduate of the Teen Challenge program. He received his bachelor's degree in Psychology and Biblical Studies from Evangel University. Mike and Char's relationship with the Vineyard began in 1980 when they met and were apprenticed by John Wimber. They became pioneers of the Vineyard movement here on the East Coast and in Canada. They currently serve on the Vineyard Eastern Region leadership team and oversee the NYC Vineyard, by "pastoring the pastors". Mike and Char are seasoned veterans of urban ministry and have a deep passionate love for the Lord, this City, church planting, and raising up and releasing young leaders into urban ministry. Listen to Mike's Testimony  (recorded at Vineyard New Haven CT, 04/14/2004)  Peter Eavis is now pastor of Vineyard West Side, a church plant from the NYC Vineyard in June 2006. He has been leading that congregation (previously the Upper West Side congregation of the NYC Vineyard) since the beginning of 2004. He has been attending the NYC Vineyard since 1996, when he moved to New York from London for work. Eavis has two passions. First, making the Gospel accessible and relevant to people who don't follow Jesus. Second, bringing people into a full and empowered relationship with God once they do follow Christ. Until spring 2005, Eavis was a financial reporter, chiefly for TheStreet.com, where he did groundbreaking work uncovering several corporate scandals in the U.S., including the Enron collapse. His writing has also appeared in the New York Times and The New Republic. In 2005, Eavis won a Loeb award for his journalism. He is married to Phoebe, a leader in the Upper West Side congregation, and has a daughter and a son. He lives on the Upper West Side.  Kenny Petrowski oversees the worship that goes on at the NYC Vineyard. This entails looking-after & training up worship leaders and other people involved with worship in our congregations & small groups. He also has a leadership role in the Submerge leadership team. Kenny has been involved with Vineyard churches in the NY-Metro area for 15 years, first at the Vineyard church in Rockville Centre (Long Island) & then the last few years in various roles at the NYC Vineyard. By day Kenny works for a financial firm in Lower Manhattan as part of a design team specializing in Online Communications & Marketing. He is married to Erica since 2003 & lives in Brooklyn. |
