BUILDING A CHURCH WITH NO WALLS
Welcome!
This is the webpage for the Upper West Side congregation of the NYC Vineyard. It's where you can find out what's going on at the UWS congregation and learn more about us.
If you're a newcomer and want to check us out, the best first step is to come to one of our Sunday services, which are held Sundays at 11:00AM at the Emily Dickinson School on 96th St. and West End Ave..
You can also email us if you want to know more about our congregation. We'd love to hear from you.
Vineyard West Side aims to be a church with no walls. This is what our church is aiming for:
No Barriers to Entry. Anyone who comes into contact with us should be treated with love, acceptance and respect, regardless of race, income, religious background or education.
No Barriers to Exit. We are to fulfill Jesus' Great Commission by being in and about New York City proclaiming the gospel of Christ and his Kingdom through word and deed.
No Barriers to Participation. Each follower of Jesus Christ has a role to play in the advance of God's Kingdom. We are committed to training people to use their spiritual gifts to do the things that Jesus did.
No Barriers to God. To do anything as a congregation, we need God to actually be with us by his Holy Spirit, who provides guidance, care, healing, as well as power and equipping for service.
Our congregation reaches out through things like the Alpha Course and our compassion ministry. We do regular training workshops. And we have homegroups, where people can form friendships, receive pastoral care and study God's word.
It's been a privilege telling you how we hope to build a church with no walls. Come and check us out. I am sure it will feel like home.
Take care,
Peter Eavis, Pastor of the Upper West Side
